Introduction
Hello, lovely people. As cheesy as it sounds, I deeply believe that discussion can always teach us something new. I'm pretty dry-humored and silly. I'm one of those obnoxious people who don't take anything too seriously and just truly enjoys life.
What is your spiritual background? (druid, wiccan, ecclectic, atheist, [ex-]Christian, etc)
I was born in a pagan household and my mama (hedge witch for 35 years) was my first mentor and still teaches me a lot from afar. I studied a bit of other religions but always came back to my roots in paganism and am always expanding and defining.
What do you know about ancient druids?
Were a pagan sect that seemed to vanish at the BC/AD switch and were squashed in the roman empire later, though most of the information on them is actually in glancing references in rome about the celts. They pretty much all together vanished after
What do you know about modern druids?
They're a neo-pagan path that sews together modern earth based beliefs and the bits people still know about ancient druids. Polytheistic, though the emphasis is on the Goddess & God. As opposed to the 5 elements, the emphasis is on sky, sea & land.
How do you feel you relate to modern druid spirituality?
I feel there are a lot of points that I agree with and some that I don't see eye to eye with perfectly, but I don't think that any knowledge is bad knowledge. I've yet to find any defined path that I agree with totally, so that's nothing new! *grin*

WELCOME Samantha, I am so glad you have found our group. Though our focus in not any particular teachings or tradition we welcome all. I am like you - a transplant here, and am also still struggling after 3 1/2 years. You expressed it so beautifully.
